Parish Missions

"2014 Connecticut Catholic Men's Conference"Standard for Parish Missions is that there will be one talk given each night for three consecutive evenings (more or less if preferred). There are optional prayer services, as well.

Goal: To inspire your parishioners.  To deepen and rejuvenate their spiritual lives.  To create a desire for knowing God and connecting with Him on a deeper level.  To create an enthusiasm and a passion for living out our faith both in the church and in daily life.

What Takes Place: One talk will be given each night on a different topic starting (ideally) around 7PM.  The three topics I give are below.  Each talk is about 45 minutes to 1 hour long.

This talk is about the incredible and unbelievable love story that unfolds between us and God through the person of Jesus Christ. It starts with sin and ends with salvation. In order to cultivate a deep, passionate, spiritual life and an abiding relationship with God, we need to overcome our misconceptions of who God is and come to know how much He loves us  individually, passionately, and unconditionally.  We will also be challenged to respond more wholeheartedly to that great love in our daily lives. Christ gave everything to us; how much do we give to Him?

The focus of this talk is on how to pray, how to connect with God, and how to make prayer work.   This is a very practical, how-to talk that discusses the different types of prayer and the struggles we all face.  The talk begins with the necessary principles of the spiritual life, continues with vocal prayer, and proceeds to deeper prayer that will revolutionize the whole way we pray and connect with God.  It also deals with how to overcome distractions, being too busy, and other issues we all struggle with.

THIRD EVENING TALK: “LIVING HOLY IN AN UNHOLY WORLD” (How To Live Catholic Without Compromise)

Peter Kreeft once said the problem with our country is not Hollywood, the president, or the media.  The problem is sin, and a crisis of saints. This is a powerful, hard-hitting talk that discusses what it means to be a follower of Jesus and challenges parishioners to live out their Catholic faith 100% at home, at work, and in our culture, and in everyday life.  It discusses some common obstacles to holiness and how to overcome them. Most of all, it calls us to become saints because saints change the world. St. Therese the Little Flower has been dead for over 100 years, and she is still changing lives worldwide. That is the power of holy and saintly living!

Other Popular Talks:

  1. “The Sacrament of Confession:  A Life Transforming Experience” (With optional penance service to follow)
  2. “The Best Gift Ever!”  The true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and how it can transform our lives.  (With optional Adoration service to follow)
  3. Other talks upon request (See list of talks in link above)

Different Options:  Please note that you always have the option to substitute one talk for another.  In addition, I also speak to teens and Confirmation programs.  So there is an option to hold an additional night for teens or to have them join us during one of the three evenings (recommended for the first night).

Please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail if you have any questions.  From experience, these Parish Missions inspire minds, change hearts, and set souls on fire.
