Parish Missions

"2014 Connecticut Catholic Men's Conference"Parish Missions are like a mini-retreat where one talk is given each night for three consecutive evenings (more or less if preferred), along with optional prayer services.

Goal: The goal of our Parish Missions is to inspire your parishioners, and to deepen and rejuvenate their spiritual lives.  These missions will absolutely help your parishioners to know God more deeply, to know their faith more soundly, and to be inspired to live out that faith both in the parish and in daily life.

What takes place: One talk will be given each night on a different topic. The three standard presentations typically given are below.  Other topics may be substituted if you wish. Each talk is about 45 minutes to 1 hour long.

FIRST EVENING TALK: “WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE?”

This talk presents the incredible and unbelievable love story that unfolds between us and God through the person of Jesus Christ. It starts with sin and ends with salvation. In order to cultivate a deep, passionate, spiritual life and an abiding relationship with God, we need to overcome our misconceptions of who God is and come to know how much He loves us  individually, passionately, and unconditionally.  This talk will challenge us to consider why we are here and exactly what we are living for.

SECOND EVENING TALK: “LIFE-CHANGING PRAYER & SPIRITUALITY

This presentation teaches Catholics how to pray, how to connect with God, and how to overcome distractions and difficulties. This is a very practical, real-life prayer talk for anybody at any level of faith. Many Catholics have said prayers their whole life, but very few pray prayers in a way that transforms us and our relationship with God!

THIRD EVENING TALK: “LIVING HOLY IN AN UNHOLY WORLD” (How To Live Catholic Without Compromise)

Peter Kreeft once said the problem with our country is not Hollywood, the president, or the media.  The problem is sin, and a crisis of saints. This is a powerful talk that discusses what it means to be a follower of Jesus and how to be a saint. This presentation is 100% practical for living our Catholic faith without compromise: whether at home, at work, or in the world. It also discusses the difficulties and obstacles to holiness and how to overcome them. Saints change the world! Consider St. Therese, the Little Flower. She has been dead over 100 years, and she is changes millions of  lives each year worldwide. That is the power of holy and saintly living!

Other Popular Talks:

  1. “The Sacrament of Confession:  A Life Transforming Experience” (With optional penance service to follow)
  2. “The Best Gift Ever!”  The true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist and how it can transform our lives.  (With optional Adoration service to follow)
  3. Why Be Catholic? (With all of the issues in the church, why be Catholic?)
  4. Other talks upon request (See list of talks in link above)

Options: We also speak to teens and Confirmation programs. Thus, there is an option to hold an additional night for teens or to have them join us during one of the three evenings (recommended for the first night).
